The Hare and the Tortoise – Part #2

So as it’s been said I am a huge animal lover and so using this poor guy to flog a house just wasn’t going to happen. Returning him to a safe place soon was the priority, and yes of course getting the house ready for the open. I ran to the backyard, deposited the turtle, threw my open house signs out and ran around the house rushing always rushing to flick all the lights on.
I picked up the phone and called home. The most amazing part of this crazy situation is that when I called my son and told him I needed him and dad to come up to my listing to pick up a turtle that I had rescued and deliver him to safety they didn’t even ask me to repeat myself. I am that person. I collect so many strays that my family no longer even questions a call like this! As the clock struck 2pm I was set. House looked great, everything was ready and the rescue team was on it’s way and that’s when it happened…..
I lost him. Really??? I thought they moved slow. Fenced back yard, large fenced grassy area and not a trace!
It was one of those classic moments where I spent the next 10 minutes crawling around in a skirt and heels, looking under hedges. I am not sure why (as luck would have it) no one came by my Open House to witness the scene but luckily it was enough time to find him, for my rescue team to arrive and to get them all on the road before the “open housers” began to roll in.
